Debbie,

If you remove only the rear baffles you want effect the back pressure which is required for you engine. Removing all of the baffles will make the engine run to lean. This will cause engine damage. If you decide to remove all the baffles you will need to rejet the carbs.
There are several web sites out there showing how the owners removed the rear baffles only.
