my v-star is 2003 I´ve put 3000 on it and just changed the oil 2 times also I towled it off a few times, and it runs better now than new. I´ll take it in for a shop check-up when it needs one but it is solid. it is limited to 90+mph so its not for raceing but it is a great bike for a trip to the ocean[200 mile there and back]one afternoon with friends.you just put in gas and go when you want cause it has no chains I´m retired so I keep it 65 - 75 mph but it will go faster .it is not a speed bike but it is fine two-up on the highway here in Puget Sound area [Washington State] and I´m pleased with the way people like the style curt
