I personally would go for the 1100 or even bigger. I have a 1100 2005 Vstar Classic and I love it. I used to ride dirt bikes and also had a 1998 Ninja. So for me, it was a big change, both in power and in style. Still I feel that you, Rob would be bored with the 650 and expect so much more @ the throttle, again this is just my opinion based on not knowing what level of riding skill you have!
