Hey Chuck, I installed the Vance and Hines Classic Exhaust Slip-ons. The install instructions stated that no tuning or carb work was required. The install was a breeze and the sound was quite a transformation. The OEM tubes make the engine sound like an electric sewing machine. The V&H gives the bike a real sound. I donĀ“t know about other after-market exhaust, but the V&H required no engine work. JoeTexan p.s. You might want to check out the comments about the V&H Classic slipons at www.cruizercustoming.com.
