I disagree with everything that Rich stated. I have a 2005 Venture. I have not done a thing to it other then change the oil in 6,000 miles. I have owned the Goldwing,Harley, and BMW k1200LT and in just that order. The Venture does not have a reverse like the Goldwing and BMW, but it is more comfortable with the new Pillow seats. Having owned previous brand touring bikes, I can honestly say the Venture is the best buy for your money. It cost considerably less than the other Tourers,is as comfortable if not more comfortable than the Wing,BMW, and Harley: and it is loaded with amenities. It has the best warranty with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. The Goldwing and BMW have 36 months and the Harley has 24 months.
