Thinking about buying an 03 Adventure

I am thinking about exchanging my 03 KTM 950 Adventure for an 03 BMW 1150 Adventure. I´m living in Guatemala Central America and found that the KTM after sales service is diabolical - I´ve far too many punctures and the main problem I´ve found with the KTM has been overheating - after my latest puncture (this weekend after taking the bike out for the first time in nearly a year (after waiting for parts)) my mind is almost made-up about a the Beemer. I just wonder if there´s any advice/things to be aware of from people in the Central American part of the world regarding Beemers- both the bikes and the service?
