New here. My name is Scott, I live near Gettysburg PA. I´m reading about the V Strom 650 and need some info please. My last 650 (yrs ago)was a Seca 650. The way it was geared, and with 650 cc´s, it ran around 5500 rpm´s to do 65 on the interstate. On a long hot trip from RI to Tampa I burnt up almost all of my oil. After that, I opted for a Kawasaki GPZ 1100. With the larger engine, I could cruise at highway speed at only 3200 rpm. I don´t need the speed the 1100 was capable of, but I did like the easy cruising RPM. SO my question: what´s the V Strom 650 like on the intersate? (rpm wise)? Does it feel like you need another gear? And would it be big enough for a larger than avg rider (6´6", 220 lbs). THANKS for any info!
