Helen, I owned a Savage 650 and had never ridden before either. Scared to death. So in Maryland they have motorcycle safety course and it takes you from how to mount the bike to actually riding. It was Thursday and Friday evening, Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday and after the class I was riding and feeling secure enough to head out with people. In a matter of a couple of weeks I was out riding on my own. For the manual check american suzuki.com I found parts and items from them. Good luck.
