Gents: Wife purchased new, 2004 Vol 800. Never ran well. Back to dealer twice; once in summer, other in fall. Machine cuts dead on crack throttle & surges on cruise. Closing the strangler slightly improves cruise at increased consuption. Stinks rich on idle, smells lean on cruise(gear of choice has little effect). Unleaded fuel in States prevents a plug reading. Dealer says there is no problem!
Still in warranty, however will entertain proven fixes or ... Allan
