C50 engine noise |

Hi, everyone. About 2 months ago I bought a 2006 Boulevarde c50t from a private party. I love the bike, but I´m pretty sure he didn´t maintain the bike very well. Here´s my issue; I noticed quite a bit of engine noise, a ´tapping´ or ´clicking´ upon acceleration and going uphill. It was as soon as I started letting out the clutch and giving it throttle. I took it in for a valve adjustment, which together with an oil change came to $620. Well, I´m noticing that it still has engine noise, although not as bad as it was. Now it occurs at higher speeds, not when I´m first taking off. My question is, is the normal for this model of bike? From what I´ve been reading, these 800cc engines are about bulletproof. I got the bike for a reasonable (I thought) price, and he was about to take it off the market cause nobody was buying. Maybe they heard something I didn´t? Or again, maybe that´s just how this bike sounds. Thanks, Mark |
