Greetings! I am new to this group. I am a new owner of a GS500F. I am a beginner, first motorcycle, just took professional Basic Rider Training course. First question: How is the choke supposed to work? It seems backwards to me. To start the engine cold, the lever needs to be in a sweet zone about 1/2 way. Moving the lever toward me increases the idle and gets the engine started. Once started, though, it idles awfully fast ~2000rpm. Moving the choke lever toward me makes it idle even faster. Moving the choke lever away from me slows the idle and ultimately kills the engine. As the engine warms up, the idle continues to increase. Every time I pull the clutch lever the engine revs up way too much. Is this normal? Is the choke control broken? Or do I just need to adjust something, such as the idle? Thank you in advance for your help. Jeff of Phoenix
