Well in about 30 minutes or less I hope to be the proud owner of a
2004 Silver Wing with 45 miles on it. That is if my maximum eBay
bid holds up and I actually win the auction and I´m not slammed at the
last minute by some pirate... I have wanted one of these puppies
from the moment I first laid my eyes on one about 6 weeks ago. I
used to own a CX-500 (Silver Wing without the wings) when I lived
in Fla in the 80s. And I just loved that bike and hated to part with it when I finally did. I can hardly wait to climb in the
saddle of one of these new ones, I haven´t been able to concentrate
on my work all day today. I´ll write more once I get it, if I do.
One thing I wasn´t aware of is the ABS thing. I don´t think the one I´m getting is the ABS model, but from what I´ve read it uses a
dual piston type mechanism where one of the levers operates
primarily on the rear brake (?) while appluing some pressure to the
front calipers at the same time? Is it possible to upgrade to the ABS? Economically? I had to stretch out my eBay bid further than I expected, but I guess these machines hold their value pretty well.
Just wanted to introduce myself and share my enthusiasm for what
looks to be a might fine piece of machinery.
I´m in Austin TX BTW, actually in Jollyville...
