First real ride on the 2004 Honda SW ABS |

After LOTS of low-speed practice, and some neighborhood rides at 45 mph or less, I took the Silver Wing out for 42 miles today, at speeds up to 70. It didn´t seem to notice the speed. This thing has a media-reported top speed of around 115, and at 70 I was doing 4,000 rpm (on an 8,500 red line.) 100 miles used half a tank of gas, which translates to somewhere between 40 and 50 miles per gallon (depending on how accurate the gas gage is.) So far, I couldn´t be happier. I saw a Bergman 650 on the highway yesterday; no comparison on looks, and the Bergman isn´t significantly faster. In fact, a few articles suggest it´s slower than my Silver Wing. My dealer is Honda of Plano, in Plano, TX. I recommend them. BKR |
