Hey Rich, the XR 650 L is a dog stock. At around 1000 miles you can exspect it to gain some power due to breaking in. though that front header and exhaust are really weak. I went with a white after market set with adjuster plates. It ran me around $450 total, this let the bike almost have the power of my old 88 xr 600. A free flow filter works also, just stay the heck away from MOOSE products. Unless you like rebuilding your engines. I would also recommend a new jet, but if you have the cash get a better carb, that stock 1 bowl honda thing is a joke. My old 600 had a single and a slider. The exhaust (White) and Air filter (K+N) will perk the bike up. I can get the front end up in 3 rd and ride it out in fourth. I did exspect much more from this bike stock though :( It is a shame what HONDA trys to pass as an XR these days.
