What´s up? It is good to see some other folks on the other side of the pond who know what a Dream 50 is. I live in Hokkaido, Japan and bought a virtually new 98 Dream a couple of years ago. It was my daily driver for a while before I scraped enough together for a car. I put 12,000 km on mine in a season (May through October). Before it got put away I stuffen in an overbore piston kit from a company in Tokyo, I believe, called Takegawa. This spring found me with a little larger carb, and an 11 tooth drive gear. I ddin´t get the carb seeting sussed out quite right before some dude put the fender of his Land Cruiser right in front of me, and now I am looked at finding 1200 bucks to fix the thing (rim, hub, forks, etc). It looks like insurance could cover it, but that much gets me a 1984 VT 250 with 3300 km on the clock. Anyway, before the carb was properly tuned, it pulled to an estimated 80 kph at 11,000 rpm where it about ran out of steam. The redline on mine (not an R) was 13,200 or so, so if I can stretch another 2,000 reves out of the thing, I might be knocking on the door of 60 mph.
