I ride every day, and I have always owned Japanese bikes right up until 2001 when I bought a Triumph TT600. I have just traded my 2001 TT600 for a 2004 Daytona 600. At the time I traded, my TT600 had over 45,500km on the clock, and it never skipped a beat. When maintained properly, I see absolutely no difference in reliability between any Japanese bike and a Triumph.
