As speed goes the 800ss would not be a problem, it can smoke any 600 around “I hear”, but if you want a comfortable ride you are better off with a Japanese bike. the Ducati was made for speed aerodynamic ergonomics your ride position is not the most comfortable out there, unless your legs are doing all the work, but the gas tank can help with some of your upper body weight, I would recommend going to the dealer and getting on it before you make a choice. Ducati´s are a very smooth ride with its light frame ensures you get the full experience of performance while riding. My own experience is every one loves Ducati bikes, here in Southern California they are true rubber-neckers.
Sounds like you probably are welling to trade some cruise comfort for all the other cool benefits of riding a Ducati. (of course every thing has a price$, but it’s worth it.) Get ready to meet mr. popularity.
