I´ve got a 31-inch inseam, and I ride my KLR without a lowering kit. Set the suspension at it´s softest setting, and the suspension will load enough with your weight (185) to lower the seat height to 31-32 inches. Mounting is like getting on a horse. Sidestand down, lean over the saddle, left foot on the peg, up and over. The bike will settle down to a usable height. Getting off, kickstand down, stand up on the pegs, right leg off and step down. The bike will rise and reset itself. Do it in slow motion the first couple of times. Other riders stare at me when I do it. One said he was amazed at my balance capabilities. Heck, it isn´t anything special if you´re used to getting on and off of a bicycle.
