Hi Everyone. I´m a newbie to V-maxes although I have wanted this bike sine 85. My past experience is with 81 Yamaha 650 Special, 85 FJ1100 and my previous torture machine an 03 SV650S. I am still in the break-in period but wanted to know if the engine clunking is normal. It seems to clunk when revving between 1.5krpm and 2.5krpm. It is not a consistent clunk with engine speed, but seems to happen sporadically. It is more pronounced when cold to warm. My impressions so far a very good for such a heavy bike. It is suprisingly comfortable. The seat is low enough but faily wide for my 28 inseam. Does anyone have any ideas for lower front seat?. After my first ride with the v-max, I knew I made the right decision. That v-8 rumble is awsome. Marc |
