I bought a ZR7s recently and am well chuffed so far as it is such a simple engine to work on. The insurance quote was cheaper than my previous 250 yam (Hastings). The monoshock is a little soggy thou it is currently on factory settings, fuel consumption is good at 75 mpg thou i ain´t no spring chicken any more (54). Chain & sprockets seem to last for ever the brake pads needing replacement soon, 15,000 miles and at £6.90 a set, they won´t be leaving a burning hole in my pocket. The katana is also a great motor I´ve had three GS550´s & a katana GSX 400 which i loved to bits, the only niggle with the zr is with the starting procedure which is much the same with the two GT 750´s I´ve also owned, a right pain jiggling the choke and throttle from cold. Either bike is a great option thou if you want comfort it´s the zr but if you want fun then it´s the katana, the zr is a lump and definetly needs respect when thrashing it through the country lanes around my neck of the woods. Respects rob
