Valcus 43´s GOAL: Go fast, not much time left! OPTIONS: Tried three Harley mufflers after taking off cat-conv and three exhaust pipe lumps. Saved a ton. THEN, saw a Tri Bonneville megaphone muffler on the dealer´s wall, held it up to the R-III on display (NOTE: One of several in stock at North Coast in Toledo), and it was perfect!!! The pipe just after the O2 sensor is 1 3/4 and the D&D megaphone slipped right on. Had to cut off 6 inches to align bracket with right foot peg bracket then had to fabricate a short chunk to finish hanging it. Yeah, that works good!!!! AND the pipe is a straight through shot with a bit of baffling in the flared megaphone area.

Harley makes an aftermarket front fender they happen to use on the V-Rod, it´s thin aluminum and is appearing more often as poser take-offs in sale bins and at swap meets. When i find another one I will put it through the English wheel to see if it can be flattened a bit more. Two pieces of flat aluminum stock make great brackets and should finish up nicely. Turn signals can be whacked and mini´s can be mounted on the fender strut without drilling if you take of the damned chrome cover. The front mini signal can be mounted to a small chunk of bar stock bent in an L and drilled to bold to trees with original bolt. The factory R-III fly screen fits well, but the kid is rolling and hammering some aluminum for more aerodynamics around the 140 mph zone. This is the most customizable bike I have ever owned. I bet an aluminum gas-in-frame unit would look trick. Anyone have a crunched Buell or Hyabusa frame? Yahooooo, isn´t just for politicos from VT anymore:)
