| Hi Guys - well I actually sat on the RIII yesterday at the Sydney (Aus)M/C Show and I can tell you that I´m won. Im a big mileage cruiser person and if the Rlll goes and handles like it feels and looks it will be an incredible bike and experience. Currently own an 1100 Vstar (Love it!)and have been sweating on the 1700 Roadstar - not yet in Australia. I went to the Yamaha stand made some more inquiries and ultimately told the sales guy "Based on looks, feel and cost I think I will be an Rlll convert". Although the Rlll is heavier than my Vstar, it feels much nimbler, due I think to the low centre of gravity. Still, proof of the pudding... I´ll reserve judgement till I ride one (very frustrating - eh?), something M/C dealers have to come to terms with, ie people want to try before they buy. By the way, pictures do not do this beautiful bike justice and that rear wheel is fantastic, about time someone put a decent piece of rubber on the back of a cruiser. Oh yeah - recently test rode some HD´s- come a long way they have, but dont think the´ll be in the race with the Rlll, except maybe for diehard HD fans. Final view - I think Triumph has set the stage for things to come in the cruiser market and subject to performance,I will be very proud to ride one. |
