For what it´s worth:

My Dad recently purchased an AN400 Burgmann. It was an ´03 with 200 some odd miles on it. The dealer gave my dad some bullsh_t that the bike had briefly belonged to the shop owner´s wife. Yeah, sure, OK.

Almost immediately, my dad experienced what appeared to be a dead battery. He concluded that because the bike wouldn´t ´turn over´ at all. The bike ended up in the shop and then came out working OK, but nobody actually said what the problem was. ´Might be what you describe. Possible?

Same thing happened a few weeks later. ´Wouldn´t turn over. The old man was nearly psycho. Back to the shop, and since then, it´s been fine. The shop said it was the battery. But come on, TWO virtually new Japanese maintenance-free batteries going dead, both after starting the bike, then going stone-dead after 10 minutes of riding? I don´t think so.

Still, my Dad IS a **** for any story that originates from anyone but from his son; me. He´d ask me for the time of day and then immediately dispute my answer.
