I just got a 650 last week and since it is still in the break in period, I haven´t went fast for long, but the one time I cracked on the throttle, it easily jumped to 70 mph. I don´t think you´ll have any problem. I was told it would do over 100 on the interstate. BUT, I don´t know how california emmision differences may effect this. P.S. I am lovin mine! comfortable, easy to ride, easy on gas, plenty of storage, plenty of power, A NO BRAINER!
