It´s a charastic you´re going to soon realize doesn´t matter. I don´t usually let my RPMs dip much lower than 3000 anyway. Slow speed manuvering is done by Feathering the clutch... The friction zone on this bike is pretty large. As you get it broken in you will notice that the bike is almost always ready to shift. And one other tip about the throttle lag, it´s less noticeable as long as you ensure you let it warm to 60´c at least before even putting it in gear.
