Hello to new sfx owners who ask about these machines- they are damn fine little scooters especially if you like 2 strokers, pretty much bullet proof as long as maintained well, warmed up properly and crucially use good lube, having said that they don´t use much oil but they are a bit more expensive to run then a 50cc 4 stroke as use more petrol and oil like for like, but well worth as much more fun, faster and the noise is cracking.I like to stick to original genuine parts but there are some great mods for induction and emissions (exhaust).There are various mods that will give you exra oomph but i wouldnt overdo it as the little engines are fairly stressed already compared to 4 strokes which tend to be more tolerant to lack of servicing and thrashing abuse because of higher tolerance levels - a 2 strokes moving and working engine parts fun much faster which is why the rpm is much higher and thats why 2 stokes can get a bad press in that department - they don´t take kindly to being neglected but looked after properly they will last for years and years with minimum fuss. REMEMBER at the end of the day it´s only 50cc so don´t expect superbike performance. They are easy to maintain and service if you know what you are doing as fewer moving parts as previously mentioned. I´ve rebuilt many engines for many bikes in my time and these are a joy to work on. Take india for example where they are hugely popular- 500 million people can´t be wrong and they love their scooters as for the vast majority it´s their only means of transport.When you buy one if you´re not technically minded I would get it inspected as many of then have been subjected to abuse by youths, thrashed around, dropped, had wrong parts fitted and generally poorly maintained and so on. As I said a 4 stroke takes more kindly to abuse in this way. Good luck mate and you will have years of pleasure. I´ve owned many bikes in my time and also have a Yamaha R1, but this scooter always brings a smile to my face due to its simplicity and not trying to be any other then what it is. At the end of the day day it´s a Honda - in my opinion the best class of engineers the world has ever seen bar none
