the charging system at speed should be able to handle it but your breakeven current may be affected.using a digital volt meter set to dc amps hook it in line at the main fuse by pulling the fuse out and putting each lead of the meter to each terminal of the fuse holder turn the key on and you should get a - reading if not then reverse the lead´s and try again, then start the bike and see at what rpm it goes from a negative # TO a positive # usually it´s below idle speed so as soon as you start the bike it goes positive. Before installing the light´s temporarily hook them to the battery and perform the the same test as before checking your breakeven current if you dont get a positive # before idle or at a very low rpm you may have a problem keeping the battery charged while cruising.
