Paint codes?

I am new to this group and would hopefully like to find the oracle out there!

The subject matter is paint codes. My bike is a 1999 ´X´ in the common metallic blue (paint code - PB284-C). Apparently Mr Honda ´don´t do paints´ and I´m trying to get hold of the ´nearest´ car colour to match and sort out those horrible stone chips.

Has anyone out there been and done this labourious task already? There are many cars out there with apparently quite similar colours (Peugeot 307, Toyota Yaris, some Nissans the obvious Subaru Imprezza´s and now Volkswagon has a new bright blue)

With grab rail in hand, I´ve been out on the streets comparing colours (although its a bit embaressing on the High Street!).

Please if anyone out there knows of a car make and colour (and hopefully its paint code) I would be extremely grateful.

The Mrs is pretty cheesed off at the moment with no grab rail on the bike.

So if anyone is out there with that code, this would save a hell of a lot of time and ear ache!
