I dont know if you have bought the bike yet or not -- but you said its a 1993 in the USA? With two previous owners? These bikes were only imported to the USA from 1988-1990. I dont know why they quit other than the fact that this is around the time Old Man Honda passed leaving the company (at his bike enthusiast psyche) to a businessman who wants to sell the 600´s for mad money and profit compared to half or less price per 250 with LITTLE or NO profit at all!! These bikes in MINT condition will go for 2000+ but if it´s ever been down, ripped seat, rusty gas tank, blown seals or bent forks, chain and sprockets; I´d start dropping the price per each, ya know? 7k miles is great! I have 45000miles on my 89 vtr 250! ALSO -- run the bike for a little while and if it cuts off by itself (not because of low-low rpms) but if the battery starts dying while it´s running -- its got a bad Rectifier/Regulator. These will get really hot and then start frying the CDI/spark unit in the tail section. Thats pretty much the only problem with the vtr! good luck and let me know what you think.
