Hi, I guess all of the superfour models do have the same common gearbox problem. I have the 1992 model which does the same thing. Try checking the free idle setting jet of the carburation (the revs on idle)this should be 1200rpm +/- 100rpm. The lower the idling speed the less is the clunky noisy gearchange.
