Hi Sad in TN,

They do not make a Honda Shadow 400 by name, But Honda makes the Honda Steed 400 VLX which is sold outside of the USA. Japan, Asia, Europe and South America to name a few places. I own a Steed 400 which is identical to the Shadow 600 VLX sold in the USA and elsewhere. They did import some steed 400´s in the 90´s and you can still purchase used ones on the net. I believe the reason for this is because in the USA, most bikers purchase cycles for powers, so they sold the 400 mostly overseas. The earlier steeds or Shadows were detuned for the US market from about 38 hp to 31 hp.
