That´s very interesting cos the one I´m looking at has got a horrible rattly sound (something like timing chain rattle)and the owner gave exactly your explanation: that the rattle came from the slides in the carbies.

Anyway I´m taking it to a bike shop tomorrow to be checked out and if it checks out OK I´m going to buy it, I´ve decided. Based mainly on the rapturous descriptions of it on this very message board, how can I resist??

So what if I hardly ever get to ride my other bikes and if it means living on porridge for a few months.....
