Hi My name is Garry and I just sold my zx9r b1 to buy my Gsxr1000k2 and Cannot get my heAd around what a huge leap bikes have taken within ten years !!! Although I have ridden a brand new one which is the same age difference between my zx9 and my Gsxr and I think they have slowed down !!! Doh ! I know my 02 model is a long stroke engine and the newer ones a shorter stroke! The reason I love the k2 is cause of the long stroke it has incredible power on tap from 2500 rpms where as with the new model it is quite tame till 8-9000rpm then it is like all hell is breaking loose with a huge surge of power much like a rz500 two stroke! My zx9r was the same too ! Tame to say the least ! The 02 Gsxr is a angry beast of a machine with power to burn like the zx9r after 8-9000 rpm but from 2000 rpm! I love and respect her !!! She is a beast not to be pushed hard by the inexperienced! They do bite lol! But what fun if you open her up ! Wow! I don´t believe after ridding a new 1000 and 1300 busa , it´s just not ten grands more bike is all ! My 02 has only 30k on odometer! I´ll be keeping my 02 model !
