As far as I know the word ´boost´ was never part of the actual name of this bike. It´s the B-King, not the Boost King. Second, the B-King isn´t turbocharged, it´s supercharged with a roots type blower. The imporatant difference being that a blower is powered by pulling energy off the drive line of the engine where a turbo is powered by the waste exhaust gasses. With the roots style blower this basically means that there would be almost NO lag from the time you cracked the throttle to the time you got boost and that rise of boost pressure would be matched to the engien´s RPMs making it smoother. The bike kicks ass and it would be nice if they built it but I´m not going to hold my breath. If it made it to market it would be devoid of almost of the really cool tech-goodies that B-King concept bike has. It might be supercharged like the concept bike but that would jack the cost of the bike up a bit because of the expense of fitting the supercharger which Suzuki would have to buy from an outside supplier. Just my anal-retentive $0.02. |
