I had the same problem I think just after I got my VL It seemed to culminate when it stoped starting at all. All I did was clean the battery terminals. Could lean towards an electirical problem there or else where. Been reading these bikes run on the outter extremities of their electrical ability. I´m going to boost the electrical side od my bike up if possible.
