Vibration from drive belt

Had new drive belt I installed on 2003 250 Reflex. Seemed fine around town but when I got on the Interstate and was going 70, belt broke. Mechanic told me it was probably a bed or incorrect belt. It was a Gates belt from anow online scooter supply. Mechance ordered OEM Honda belt and installed it. Told me everything else looked good including the faces where the belt rides on. Now when I´m on the highway, I feel as if there is a vibration when I left off the throttle. Feels like the belt could be vibrating.
Could anyone offer any suggestions?
