My 2002 pulls right up to 100 no sweat: It loses some steam from 100 to 120, and takes longer to get to 130. You should be able to pull up to 100 in 4th gear, but usually I shift into 5th around 80 or so. If you put a 4 into one on, you will probably have a lean running engine: be careful! You might have to have your carbs rejetted, or you might have to shim the needles in the carbs to give you a richer mixture. ThereĀ“s a good article in the yahoo 750 Honda group pages, in the files, about a guy who shimmed the needles up. Tells you how to do it, what to watch out for, and the performance gain he got. He had drilled 5 3/8 dia holes in the backplate of each exhaust pipe and then found it ran really lean. I think he had a 2000. Regards John. |
