I noticed a new noise in my 2002 the other day, seemed to be the cam chain. It went away after it warmed up too. I wonder if it is the same noise you are hearing. It seemed to be more of a chain clatter than a ticking noise. Mine is the one with the lean idle problem below. Do you have that problem with you bike?
