My 2002 Magna won´t start, WON´T EVEN CRANK ! HELP

I just got a 2002 Honda Magna 750 from Craigslist. The bike only has 7,411 miles on it. It needed a battery, so I put one in, but it will not crank. All the lights and switches and horn work, but the bike will not crank at all. Does anyone know anything about this. I know the bike was out in the weather for awhile. Is there something I should be sepcifically checking that would cause this ?
