it does seem unfair that the manufacturer will not offer any assistance. although, when you buy a new motocross bike the manufacturer expects that a person will push its limits and they do build a damn nice bike for you to use. You ARE lucky he wasn´t hurt, but how many times do you think he has attempted a dumb jump/drop/or gap?- take the bike to a certified welder for the repair and check it after and before EVERY ride like the owners manual suggested in the first place.
