The bulldog doesn´t like winter, is really designed for an Italian climate.
I have found that in very cold conditions it´s best to put choke on full and don´t twist the throttle.
As the bike warms up you can reduce choke , if you touch the throttle it cuts out.
So no blipping of the throttle until she´s fully warmed up!
