stalling issue said 2009-04-07 02:05
I have a 2002 yamhaha r6 with 14062 miles on it . im the 2nd owner of the bike. I bought it last 2 months ago drove it 15 miles from the private seller i bought it from , no issue. the following weekend drove it around town and it died . i was riding in 2nd gear about 40 miles an hour and sounded like a pop not sure if it was an electrical pop or backfire my hearing was muffled by my helmet and wasnt that loud.all of a sudden lost all throttle response like it stalled looked down and the tach was blank no lights no speed absolutely no juice. pulled over and called a buddy he tried jumping me but nothing the battery was stone dead wouldnt even crank.so we threw it on his truck tied it down and drove to my house . while pulling it off the back of the bed and before i put it in the garage i said let me see something i hopped on it and it started right up and purred like a kitten. Now im afraid to takie it out incase it dies on me again. any help would be greatly appreciated. how do i test the stator ? Or can it be the main relay since the tach and everything went out? The battery is brand new just installed it after it happened just because the guy said it was original battery . The season is about to begin please help me in any way with advice or issues you may have had related to it .thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you.
