Webster´s states, ´Rebound - to spring back on or as if on collision or impact with another body (mass), an upward leap or movement´. ´Steer - to control the course of, to guide by mechanical means´. Its self explanatory. The rebound damper lessens the "shock" or "impact" effect on the control of the bike. This can be caused by hitting bumps, or setting the front end down after executing a wheelie. The steering damper provides stability while at speed. For instance, if you took your R6 to 150mph, without a steering damper, your front end would shudder, without a doubt. If you rode a wheelie at 100mph, then set it down, the front end would shake and be momentarily unstable. Understand? Buy a steering damper, trust me. Its a very good (mandatory for extreme riders) investment. Class is dismissed. Make sure to do your homework.
