I own a 2001 r6 and have ran into the same problem, thought it was the stator or battery but I put in a new battery. I´ve been going down the road and have it stall then back fire twice I even thought I ran it out of gas. I ended up figuring out the problem. It´s the kill switch. And others I´ve heard have the same problem the switch gets loose or something. Mine does quite a bit but I just taptge switch and it´s fine. I´ll be replacing it soon maybe you got the same problem. Goodluck. Oh yeah I know on stunt bike they modify it so you don´t even have it. That could be dangerous though if your not experienced and you encounter throttle sticking or some other possible provlems
