I was looking to buy an old jap 600 when I came across my Sachs 650 for less than £2k because the bike press didn´t bother to ride one - just slagged it off. Has been a joy to ride all summer, what a beautiful sound from the Lafranconi exhaust. Some niggles but nothing like Keith´s, bit vibey, soft rear shocks starting to give up, eating the chain rapidly despite Scott Oiler and I have to tap the rev counter to wake it up. It´s a bitsa special but mine is well finished and uses the popular Suzuki DR/Freewind engine so surprised you had trouble Keith. What were your dealers like? I am an ex-courier who mostly rode singles (RS250, XBR500, CX500 firing on one cylinder;)) so met my needs performance wise more than adequately.
