Oil Problem Maybe?

I´ve always noticed that my 02 750SS ran hot, but after switching over to Red Line Racing Oil (20W-50), I noticed that my bike runs extremely hot. Do you think that a less viscous oil would do the trick? Perhaps I put too much oil in the bike? What does anyone think of putting a power commander on this bike? Thanks for your help.
