Kx125 vin no help??

Hi I´ve just purchased a kx125 apparently a 2002 I´m just wondering if this is true because my vin no isn´t 17 digits long only 12 and goes like this kx125k- then I can´t make out whether its 5 or 6 random numbers thanks for your help liam
