I have a KLE 500. It drives good. Both the Yamaha and the KLE are no bikes for long distances. The kle 2 cylinder engin runs with less vibrations. The Yamaha is the newest bike. Go for the looks. But I think you can beter buy the Suzuki Vstrom 650.
