81 kl 250 sputtering at high rpms in all gears

i have an 81 kl250 and i just had my carb and injectors cleaned and i put in a new spark plug but it still sputters and almost backfires at high rpms in all gears. i can only give it half throttle before it does this. it is almost like it is not getting enough gas, but it should be clean. does anyone know what else it could be?
