so what i am did was replace the shocks with solid struts made out of flat stock steel, found an old sissybar, threw it on, took the h pipe off and put straight pipe back from the headers, stripped the seat pan and trimmed the lip off all the way around and recovered it with an old leather jacket, bolted on an old 6 inch flat rear fender, and added some apehangers, took the airbox out and replaced it with some pod filters and am cruising for less than $200 total, including the $100 i paid for the 1980 honda cx500 deluxe.
